John CORDY-[280], son of William CORDY and Ann COX, was born in 1752-1753 and died bet. 1793 and 1806.

The Thirtieth Day of December 1782 } ON which Day appeared personally John Cordy of the Parish of Cam in the County and Diocese of Glocester, Labourer and, being sworn on the Holy Evangelists, Alleged and made Oath, That he is of the Age of Twenty nine Years and upwards, and a Batchelor and that he intends to Marry with Martha Carpenter of the said Parish of Cam in the County and Diocese of Glocester, Spinster aged Twenty Five Years and upwards; and that he knoweth of no lawful Lett, or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Cause wahtsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage; and that he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Chuch of Cam aforesaid; in which said Parish of Cam the said John Cordy further made Oath, that the said Martha Carpenter hath had her usual Abode for the Space of Four Weeks last past. Martha CORDY (formerly CARPENTER)-[87], married John CORDY-[280] on 10 Jan 1783 in Church of St.George, Cam, Gloucestershire, England.

Second Day of December 1806 ON which Day appeared personally David Organ of the Parish of North Nibley in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Yeoman and, being sworn on the Holy Evangelists, alleged and made Oath, That he is of the Age of sixty Years and upwards, and a Widower and that he intends to marry with Martha Cordy of the Parish of Cam in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Widow aged fifty Years and upwards; and that he knoweth of no lawful Lett, or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Cause wahtsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage; and that he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Chuch of Cam aforesaid; in which said Parish of Cam the said David Organ further made Oath, That she said Martha Cordy hath had her usual abode for the Space of Four Weeks last past. Sarah CORDY-[2336], daughter of James CORDY and Sarah FLUKE, was baptized on 26 Dec 1792 in St.James the Great, Westerleigh, Gloucestershire, England, and died after 1851.  Sarah married John MAY on 9 Sep 1812 in Westerleigh, Gloucestershire, England.  John was born before 1790-1791, and died after 1851.

On which Day appeared personally John May of the Parish of Westerleigh in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Laborer and, being sworn on the Holy Evangelists, alledged and made Oath, That he is of the Age of Twenty one Years and upwards, and a Batchelor and that he intends to marry with Sarah Cordy of the Parish of Westerleigh in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Spinster aged Nineteen Years and upwards; and the he knoweth of no lawful Lett, or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage; and the he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Chuch of Westerleigh aforesaid; in which said Parish of Westerleigh the said John May further made Oath, That She the said Sarah Cordy hath had her usual Abode for the Space of Four Weeks last past. Thomas CORDY-[17], son of William CORDY and Sarah JAMES, was born in 1783-84 in Tortworth, Gloucestershire, England and died in Oct 1867-Dec 1867 in Registration District of Dursley, England, at age 84.

23rd Day of November 1816 ON which Day appeared personally Thomas Cordy of the Parish of Berkeley in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Farmer and, being sworn on the Holy Evangelists, alleged and made Oath, That he is of the Age of twenty one Years and upwards, and a Bachelor and that he intends to marry with Mary Till of the Parish of Torthworth in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Spinster aged twenty one Years and upwards; and that he knoweth of no lawful Lett, or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Cause wahtsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage; and that he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Chuch of Tortworth aforesaid; in which said Parish of Tortworth the said Thomas Cordy further made Oath, That Mary Till hath had her usual abode for the Space of Four Weeks last past. Ann CORDY-[102], daughter of John CORDY and Martha CARPENTER, was baptised on 17 Oct 1788 in Church of St.George, Cam, Gloucestershire, England.

Fourth Day of May 1808 ON which Day appeared personally George Smith of the Parish of Slimbridge in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Farmer and, being sworn on the Holy Evangelists, alleged and made Oath, That he is of the Age of twenty Years and upwards, and a Bachelor and that he intends to marry with Ann Cordy of the Parish of Cam in the County and Diocese of GLOCESTER, Spinster aged nineteen Years and upwards; and that he knoweth of no lawful Lett, or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-contract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Cause wahtsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage; and that he prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Chuch of Slimbridge aforesaid; in which said Parish of Slimbridge the said George Smith further made Oath, That He hath had his usual Abode for the Space of Four Weeks last past. Diana CORDY-[2338], daughter of James CORDY and Sarah FLUKE, was baptised on 28 Mar 1803 in Church of St.James the Great, Westerleigh, Gloucestershire, England.

8th February 1826 on which day appeared personally Thomas Skuse of the Parish of Mangotsfield in the County and Diocese of Gloucester, Batchelor of the age of Twenty one years and upwards, prayed a Licence for the Solemnization of Matrimony in the Parish Chuch of Westerleigh in the County of Gloucester, between him and Diana Cordy of the Parish of Westerleigh of the Age of Twenty years and upwards, and made Oath that he believeth that there is no Impediment of Kindred or Alliance, or of any other lawful Cause, nor any Suit commenced in any Ecclesiastical Court, to bar or hinder the Proceeding of the said Matrimony, according to the Tenor of such Licence. And he further made Oath that she the said Diana Cordy hath had her usual abode within the said Parish of Westerleigh for the space of Fifteen Days last past. And he further made Oath that the consent of the father of the said Diana Cordy hath been obtained to such marriage.
